AIMS:

This module provides an introduction to the practice of educational psychology. It offers an orientation to the Scottish education system and the legislative, regulatory PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow and ethical frameworks within which educational psychologists practise. An opportunity to explore organizational theory and systems thinking and their application in context is provided. Students are introduced to theories of learning and PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow development and assessment and intervention frameworks used in the practice of educational psychology. Development of core practice skills required by EPs is a central part of this module with the expectation that these will be further developed during placement.

AIMS:

This module offers an introduction to the core skills, knowledge base and assessment and intervention frameworks essential for practice in PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow the primary years. Typical child development is covered as is delayed and disordered development. The module provides an orientation to the legislative and policy frameworks, which impact on families and primary schools and PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow have implications for the work of the EP. It explores the roles and functions of EPs and the different levels at which they work in relation to the primary PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow sector. The organisational context of the primary school is also considered. Trainees will be required to apply their skills and knowledge to real-life experiences on placement and reflect critically on their PROGRAMME CALENDAR FOR YEAR 2 - Part 5 Assessment Yellow practice. Skills in research design and selection of measurement instruments are taught with opportunities to develop these further in practice through a placement based collaborative project and through a self-paced research workbook.
